How many koi can your pond hold?
The honest math from our stocking guide: ~250 gallons per adult koi, adjusted for how serious your filtration is. Decide this number at home — not at the dealer's tanks.
The three rules the number assumes
- Count every fish at adult size (20″+), not today's size
- Goldfish and orfe count against capacity too
- Stock to two-thirds of the answer and the pond stays easy — full capacity is a ceiling, not a target
