Quarantine practice

New koi from Japan go through a roughly 4-month quarantine: fish are held in separate tanks by breeder to prevent cross-contamination, kept at 65-68F, treated systemically with potassium permanganate for parasites starting about a week in, checked periodically under a microscope through the remainder of quarantine, and given a final visual inspection before any shipment.

Health guarantee

Live-arrival guarantee only: if koi are lost or delayed in transit to the point of death, Sacramento Koi refunds the fish cost and shipping. Per their own policy, there is no warranty once the customer has received the koi and placed it in their pond.
